Meta Platforms Inc (NASDAQ:META, XETRA:FB2A, SIX:FB) and Sierra are developing an open standard designed to let personal artificial intelligence (AI) agents interact directly with businesses while giving consumers control over what those agents can do. The Personal Agent Protocol, announced Tuesday, is being developed with Genesys, Instinct, Rocket, Shopify, Stripe and Walmart as companies seek a common system for handling AI-driven customer interactions.
